Hermantown High School varsity teams face a packed schedule this week, highlighted by section girls and boys soccer, girls’ tennis individuals, a volleyball road invitational and a football matchup at Rock Ridge where the run-happy Hawks are a heavy favorite against a one-win opponent.

Girls Swimming and Diving: Hermantown/Proctor faces Superior at 5 p.m. at Proctor High School.
Girls Soccer: Varsity plays Section 7AA quarterfinal at North Branch at 7 p.m.
Boys Soccer: Varsity hosts Legacy Christian in a 6 p.m. section quarterfinal
Wednesday, Oct. 8
Cross Country: Hermantown competes in the Lake Superior Conference championship meet at Grand View Golf Course. The varsity girls’ and boys’ races begin at 4 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 9
Girls Tennis: Section 7AA individual tournament continues at Virginia Indoor Tennis and Pickleball Club.
Girls Soccer: Varsity Section 7AA semifinal at Cloquet at 6 p.m. (if the Hawks defeated North Branch on Monday)
Boys Soccer: Varsity section semifinal at 6 p.m., site TBD.
Friday, Oct. 10
Volleyball: Hermantown varsity plays in the St. Michael-Albertville Invitational beginning at 5 p.m.
Football: Hawks (5-1, 4-1) varsity travels to Rock Ridge for a 7 p.m. Northeast Red Conference game at Raduenz Field. Ninth-ranked, 4A Hermantown is led by junior quarterback Sawyer Senst and junior halfback Martin Sleen, Minnesota’s rushing leader with 1,322 yards.
Saturday, Oct. 11
Volleyball: The St. Michael-Albertville invitational continues at 8 a.m.
Girls Swimming and Diving: Hermantown/Proctor competes in the True Team Section meet at 10 a.m. at Lincoln Park Middle School.
